Fund the transition to union-made zero emissions heavy duty vehicles in DC’s fleet and for DC contracts

Support paid sick, medical and family leave and fair pay for transportation workers

Support a transit workforce pipeline for DC

Support collective bargaining and neutrality for construction, manufacturing and transit operations/maintenance workers

Recognize Transit and public works workers as first responders

End exploitation of rideshare and delivery drivers

Mandate climate and community assessments for all transportation projects

Prioritize safety through strategic street redesign and transit investments that reduce police interactions by slowing cars through engineering

Repair communities divided by highway and railroad infrastructure

 

Expand Affordability

Subsidize e-bike purchases

End enforcement of bus fares for seniors, kids, and low-income individuals who qualify for free or reduced fares

 

Climate Ready Transit

Install more bus shelters to protect riders from inclement weather

Reduce wait times for buses  during heat waves and other extreme weather

Invest in efficient accessible disaster response including expedited evacuation via transit plans
